This a tale of forbidden love which I co-created and illustrated it with a fellow designer, as part of a Comics workshop in the scope of “Youth, Sexuality and Poetry”. It is the story of two characters from two different religions and social statuses, who have to defend their relationship in the face of criticism and parental disapproval. With their elongated necks and a careful choice of words we managed to keep them genderless until the last page. The latter reveals through a passionate kiss their identity and exposes the ultimate obstacle faced by this young couple: Homosexuality.

Unfortunately, Lebanon remains conservative on many subjects including same sex relationships, which are strictly forbidden by the law. To portray this important issue, we experimented and challenged ideas in framing, paneling and layout as a language in comics and were very proud to be exhibited in Galerie Tanit, where our message could be heard loud and clear.
