Coup d'été: Character Development & Animatic
A little girl struggles to decide what to wear while the season royals fight for custody of the sky in heaven courtroom, causing moody weather swings.
On a winter morning, a little curly haired girl is looking out her window at the New York skyline covered with snow. Somewhere beyond the clouds, the Winter Queen and Spring King are in heaven court fighting over custody of the sky. Back in the room, the girl is getting ready for school dressing in many thick layers including an oversized scarf, big boots and even gloves to face the stormy day. When sweat beads form on her forehead, she realizes the sun has come out from behind the clouds. A flower near the window comes out of hibernation fooled into believing spring has arrived. The girl rethinks her fashion choice to suit the warmer weather before leaving with her backpack on. Suddenly heavy rain falls down and the flower goes back into hiding while the now frustrated girl comes back into the room soaked in water reaching for her umbrella. It is revealed that the girl’s outfit dilemma is caused by the season royals fighting passionately with snow and flowers. The Summer Queen takes advantage of the situation to reconquer her territory and light up the sky. In the end, the little girl and her flower are sunbathing on the rooftop enjoying the sun, to Winter and Spring’s dismay.
