This is an animated collage piece reflecting on how today's art is inspired and built on the shoulders of the artists that came before us. I was inspired by Maurizio Cattelan’s “America”, as I couldn’t help but compare his golden toilet to Marcel Duchamp’s readymade “Fountain”. The animation also features a surreal collage by Matthieu Bourel, a concept by Robert Rauschenberg, a bathroom by Roy Lichtenstein, a sculpture by Auguste Rodin, Manneken Pis from Belgium, an illustrated head by Eduardo Ramón, colorful graphics by Milton Glaser, as well as Hokusai’s Great Wave.
